STATEMENT BY THE DELEGATION OF INDONESIA AT THE 22ND SESSION OF THE UNIVERSAL PERIODIC REVIEW WORKING GROUP – CONSIDERATION OF THE NATIONAL REPORT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
My delegation would like to thank US delegation for their report, and in this regard, we would like to offer the following recommendations for their consideration:
First, to expedite the ratification process of CRPD and CEDAW and consider ratifying other human rights conventions, particularly ICESCR, CRC and ICRMW.
Second, to consider establishing a national human rights institution, in accordance to the Paris Principles.
Third, to take measures and comprehensive programs aimed at developing sensitivities among cultures, creating the climate of mutual respect and expanding protection against all forms of discrimination, including profiling on the basis of race, religions or national origin.
